LP is turning 50!

Lakeland Players is turning 50 & we’re celebrating! 2008 – 2009 is Lakeland Players 50th season and we’re planning something special for the 2nd weekend in May 2009 (date is tentative). Are you a past member or know someone who is? We want to HEAR FROM YOU! Contact us so we can keep you up-to-date on developments. Call us at (248) 681-1090 and leave a message or e-mail Lisa (Whitfield) Mohler at lgwmohler@hotmail.com. Keep an eye on your newsletters and flyers; more information to come!

New Venue
"GREASE" is the word... that will be heard starting in September as Lakeland Players and Lakeland High School start their first collaborative "season". Mike Brody has been chosen, by Board vote, to direct this first High School Show. Auditions will be September 9th and 10th and Show dates are November 20, 21, 22. While this cast will be entirely made up of students from the High School, the Production Staff will be from Lakeland Players. We are looking for anyone that wants to come and help out, have some fun, work with the kids and show them all the best of what community theatre is all about. Remember that this mutual arrangement benefits our membership as well. We will be rehearsing and performing "Music Man" and "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" at Lakeland High School. They have a great facility with dressing rooms, a work shop, green room and 500+ seat theatre that is only 6 years old. Watch your newsletters for more information on this exciting new venture.

Sewing Bee
We would like to thank everyone who came out to help with the sewing bee: Melanie Corp, Lori Curran, Janette Gurski, Jennifer Jolliffe, Sandi Krupa, Steve Krupa, Mary Morgan, Carrie Mulka, Kathy Simpson, and Shannon Williams,. We were able to make five shirts and three skirts for RenFest and it was a fun evening to boot! Thanks again!
